Why Accessibility

Whilst studying at the School of Architecture my final project was to create a structure that was for public use. This was the seedling to my obsession for accessible design.

The seedling - A building that can be accessed by anyone is where the building regulations struggles to accommodate.  Doc M - is merely the basic requirements  for accessibility rather than a track to follow.

This is evident in the lack of infrastructure for anyone with disabilities and/or frailties.

So, what do you do? You can look at buying a home or modifying/altering a home to accommodate specific needs.

The marketplace can deliver an 'Add on' fix. A stairlift or a few grab rails maybe for example. This is unacceptable today.

Since 2010 my thirst to improve this massive void in the built world has lead me to believe we can only be better.

A house needs functionality, familiarity and comfort to be a home - That’s where we come in.

and if that wasn't enough...

It hit right at home. Motor Neurones Disease within my home to adapt and mould to.

Wetrooms req, living downstairs required, hoists and independence aids required everywhere. I don't want anyone experiencing the journey we adventured without help.
